The true intent of editing is to make existing copy better. When an author is signed with a large publisher, as many as five or six individuals of varying responsibilities may work on that book. The author is usually aware of the editing that's being done; however, there are instances when the the final product is hardly a representation of the author's original work.
It is Maverick Literary's policy to include the author in the entire editing process. Our goal is never to lose the author's literary voice because we recognize this is a major investment that you've made, and we want to give you your money's worth.
